Today's show has twice the power.  Tien Tzuo SaaS expert and CEO of Zuora shares his thoughts on how you can successfully implement a SaaS business model.  Pooling his year's of experience as Salesforce.com's chief strategy officer alongside the experience his co-founder's bring from executive positions at Webex, Tien discusses best practices for setting up subscription-based services on the web. And Tien talks about making the decision to leave Salesforce.com, and what Marc Benioff had to say about him moving on to head up Zuora.

 Tien Tzuo founded Zuora after nine years at salesforce.com where he held a variety of executive roles in the company's technology, marketing and strategy organizations. Part of Tzuo's role at salesforce.com included building out the product management & marketing organization, serving as chief marketing officer for two years and most recently as chief strategy officer. In 2004, Tzuo was named "CMO of the Year Finalist" by the CMO Council and BusinessWeek Magazine. Tzuo is also widely recognized as one of the thought leaders in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry. Tzuo holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a master's in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

If Pat Sullivan  hadn't come along and created ACT! over 20 years ago to begin us all down the path of contact management and eventually customer relationship management, I might have ended up being an accountant.  And probably wouldn't have co-founded a company called CRM Essentials.  But he did and he's our guest on this week's show.  Pat shares with us why he created ACT! and how the name came to be, and gives us his thoughts on why he feels CRM vendors may be overwhelming the user community.  He also tells us what it takes to provide small businesses with the kind of CRM tools to allow them to be successful.  Plus Pat fills us in on his new venture Jigsaw Health, compares building businesses before and during the Internet era, and how he's using social media to get the word out on chronic illness.
