Show : Web Collaboration and Community Building
Guest : Diane Davidson, Webex Customer Success and Community Programs
Aired : Saturday July 14th, 2007

Finding and keeping good customers is the name of the game.  It always has been....always will be.  As more and more look to the web to help make this more effective and efficient, what are the right tools and approaches to cultivating good, collaborative relationships with those you wish to do business with.   As many businesses are looking to build virtual communities to engage customers and prospects, what does it take to get started?  And what really goes into creating the kind of community that keeps people coming back?

Our guest this week has spent the better part of a year answering these question and more.  We welcome Diane Davidson of Webex to the show to share her experiences.  In late 2006, Diane initiated the WebEx community program (community.webex.com) as a way to reach customers and non-customers alike to engage them in conversation and dialogue.

Diane Davidson has been in the high tech business for more than 25 years working in hardware, software and internet based companies. Although her roots are in the more traditional enterprise business model, her current position at WebEx has moved her into the SaaS business model. Diane’s experience spans Marketing, Education, and Customer Support and R&D at companies including IBM, Amdahl, Sybase, PeopleSoft and WebEx. She sees herself as a generalist, likes to take on new projects (she spearheaded the move to eLearning at Sybase) and finds that working in a SaaS company that embraces Web 2.0 is challenging, fun, and bit unpredictable.

Diane graduated from Miami University of Ohio.
